Writing purely from opinion, being human mean acknowledging the world around you. In order to do this, people must be responsible, analyitical, and humble. However, often in life, people disregard these characteristics and sometimes the outcomes are regretable. In example, the warfare in the middle east; When the government gives the "OK" to harm anybody in sight, many innocent people perish. The reason is because we have forgotten to think,"... Hmm, it doesnt seem right to kill this person because i cannot identify them and i do not know how they contributed to the scnenerio." Ofcourse, one might say, " well, it's only human...", but that wouldnot change anything because humans or not, killing someone that is not related to the conflict is flat-out wrong.
In the book, " Sold", the main character has trouble recieving respect from some people around her. In example ( on P. 2) The main character reflects, " When he looks, he sees cigarettes and rice beer, a new vest for himself." " I see a tin roof ". It makes me feel awful thinking that a man is selfish enough to buy gifts for himself, rather than put a roof over his families house. I believe that being in the position the main character is in, i would be extremly angry and horrified at the level of cruelty. Once again, this proves that without priniciples of human interaction and respect, terrible things result; greed, selfishness, anger.
