Lococo Post #3
The lonely, dark way the narrator of Sold writes gives the horrible memoir a somber tone that is shown throughout the book. From the scarring images of Lakshmi being abused by these men day after day, to the details of her pain and suffering, there is no sign of hope in her voice anymore. Looking in a mirror, Lakshmi says, “She looks back at me full of sadness and scorn and says You have become one of them” (122). She is disappointed in herself, and can’t understand why she is in such a terrible place. Most sentences are short; short enough to get the point across without much explanation nor depth. She is very confused, covering her pain with doubt, and begging no more harm will come to her, yet knowing this is her life now.

You are totally right Sienna, somber is defentally the main tone but there are so other ones. Like angry because Mumtaz is a very angry person in the book and also imformative because Lakshmi said a lot about her surroundings and it had a lot of imformation.
